Reason for Being at KMAS:

Miranda has decided to relocate her family to Kensington with the hopes that the coaching staff can train her children to be the skating champions that Miranda knows they have the capability of becoming.

Biography/Personality:

Only months after turning 18 and during her senior year of high school, Miranda gave birth to her first daughter, Bridget.  A mere 6 months later, and pregnant again, she marries Kellen Kennedy--a senior at the nearby university.  Miranda and Kellen move to Massachusetts, where Kellen's extended family lives.  She gives birth to her only son, Blaine, 4 months after she and Kellen are married.  Miranda and Kellen divorced two years into their marriage.  The divorce followed the birth of Samantha, upon which Kellen learns that he is not Samantha's father--his brother, Charles, is.  Miranda moves with her children back to Illinois, where they live with Miranda's parents for two years.  In summer of 1987, Miranda marries Franklin Sommerville, an anchorman for the Chicago-area ABC affiliate station.  Franklin is asked to be the anchor of ABC's nightly world news, and the family moves to Washington, DC.  Miranda gives birth to Holly in September of 1988.  Franklin and Miranda remain married until late 1991, after Franklin reveals that he is having an affair with co-anchor.  Franklin pays Miranda large sums of money each month, with the understanding that she will keep Franklin's affair from the press, and preserve his image.   This allows Miranda to dedicate a great deal of her time to making her three youngest children figure skating champions:  a goal she wants to achieve more then they do.

Miranda is the stereotypical skate mom.  While she always plays by the rules, no sacrifice is too great for the skating careers of her children.
